On Friday 6th June, the team (Jackie, Yamina and I) as well as Lele and Maryam planted 41 seedlings at Wanyange Girls Secondary School. After school, we went back to the seedling place we had visited earlier that week and got all the seedlings we had planned to get. 15 gravilia, 15 umbrella trees, 5flower trees, 4 hibiscus and 2 palm trees. We got to the school at 4pm and waited an hour for the girls to get out of classes. Jackie, Yamina, the head teacher and myself were interviewed by a journalist from a local radio station, Baba FM.
When the girls were out, we got the seedlings out of the car and started planting. We planted the flower trees by the side of the church, the palms on either side of the entrance, the hibiscus around their pond, and the rest around the field.
